My Aunt Janet and Sam made a yummy dinner!

Visiting the Stone Farm in SC

We didn't have the gate code, so we jumped the fence and walked up to the house.

Adventures in NC

Beth likes to read to Sam and she found this book of Mother Goose rhymes. Sam loves Mother Goose, so perfect, right? This must be an original or British version because the rhymes were pretty gruesome. It was pretty funny because they would start out very familiar then turn into a bloodfest. The look on her face was pretty funny. Maybe I can get her to send me some and I'll post them.
Sam got the worst haircut ever at a little salon up in the mountains. He wasn't exactly easy though, so I can't blame the barber.
I thought it would be convenient to give Sam his bath and his wash his hair (we do it twice a week - Sunday and Wednesday) in Dad's dog bath. I thought -this is great! We don't have to bend over as much! He liked all of it but the hair washing.

From NC in August

I swear he was wearing a bathing suit, but as soon as it gets wet, he wants to take it off. It sounds pretty reasonable to me. A bathing suit is nothing but wet shorts - YUK!

Picking Grape Tomatoes for Dinner

We made a great pasta dish from Cooking Light. Sam ate it because he picked the tomatoes!

Hail on September First

We had some wicked weather on September 1st. I loved it and it was so cozy!! But it did strange that we hadn't even brought in the pool yet and we had white all over the yard! Now the weather is much milder - in the 70s. We are LOVING it!

3 pictures in one Second

So now I can take three pictures in one second. It sounded so great! Now I have so many pictures I don't know what to do with them! However, it has enabled me to catch the shots like the middle one where Sam is actually looking at the camera (mission impossible with our other camera).

Stuff in the Yard

We have five large pumpkins from our one pumkin vine. I think we have some smaller ones too. This one started turning orange after I took this picture last week.

This one is almost completely orange now.
Pears. Yum.
Apples. Yum.

Soccer Baby and Beaver's First Week of School

Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole!

Charlie is kicking hard enough to knock the computer off my lap.

Sam started school this week and it went beautifully. All as planned. No crying for either of us. Keith walked with us the first two mornings to make sure we would both be ok. So now Keith leaves for work on foot and we leave for school by trike, all at the same time, and we all say good-bye in the driveway. At lunchtime, when Sam and I are walking home, Keith also walks home for lunch and we all meet in the driveway again. It's just too Beaver Cleaver for words. Except that usually my hair is not brushed.
