Sam's Birthday Ride

On Sam's birthday (Aug 21), we went for a bike ride in Park City from the Swaner EcoCenter. Then we had lunch at the top of the Swaner tower.

Uintas and Sam

We went camping in August in the Uintas. Sam and I hung out by the stream while Charlie and Keith napped. Sam made several kinds of boats and tested which floated the best.

This one won because it had more surface and extra seeds that were fluffy like dandelions.

I know I'm late. This picture was taken right before Sam turned 6 in August. Beware. I love this kid a lot.

The Cake

Parties at our house center around the cake - the theme centers on the kind of cake it is possible for us to make. It usually takes several days and several people. The chess cake was no exception. Thanks, Aunt Elisa, Uncle Carl, Mary Stanley, and Dad! *and Mom. The chess board was great and all the chess pieces were made of chocolate - white and black.

Teague and Sam played pawn wars on the cake before we cut it. Each kid got to choose two pieces to have "on the side".

Book Exchange

Instead of gifts, each kid brought a book and then we did a book exchange. But this picture is Sam falling on his head in black and white twister.

Sam's 6th Birthday!

Sam had a chess party! We taught the kids how to play "pawn wars" on the giant chess board in the yard

Papa Moose

I've been taking pictures of the kids with Papa Moose at Red Butte Gardens since Sam was 2. This was last May. Charlie fell in a pond and all we could find was a diaper for him.

Some day I'll put all the Papa Moose pictures together.
