More Flowers in our yard

I was told that this is a plum tree outside out our kitchen window.
Tulips in the backyard.
Grape hyacinths and east-facing Buddha.

Assessing our camping situation

After breaking our camping boxes out (a 4.5 year hiatus -camping in FL is not a lot of fun), we cleaned our sleeping bags and put everything out in the sun to air them out. We only need to get a few things for our upcoming SUMMER of CAMPING!!

"Tulips" Felted Purse

I was working on this project at the same time as the blanket. I used Manos wool from Peru (I think) and felted the bag. Then I needle-felted the design freehand. It is a Pennsylviania Dutch tulip design. It was a TON of fun to do this project. I'm going to line it so that it will be stiffer and not so floppy, but I really like the pattern. It will make a good knitting bag for travelling.

May Fair Party Planning Committee

Tasha, Katie and Rachael and I are planning a great May Fair party with a Maypole and the works. All of our skills really work together - Tasha the CPA is the organizer, Katie the artist is doing decorations, Rachael the musician is in charge of music. I'm, ummm, the idea person.

Sam and Sports

Sam running bases.

The Salt Lake Marathon route was just a few blocks from our house. Sam and Keith got up early and watched a few runners.

Happy Earth Day!!

I am super busy right now with work (have writing contracts, business plan, plus regular association work), but I could not let Earth Day pass. This picture is from Arches National Park. This inspiring park outside of Moab has many, many spectacular arches like this. Over the years, Keith and I spent two new years here and when we were thinking of moving here, this was one of the pictures in our minds.

Sam and I celebrated Earth Day with a hike with Eli and Tasha, Yoga Monkeys, after-dinner outside play while we watched the sun turn the mountains pink, and a short walk around the neighborhood with Keith to look at the tulips and pink and white flowering trees.

This is from Zion National Park. We have not been here yet, but obviously, this is on our list!

Sibling Reunion Calendar

This calendar is for Paul, Jimmy, and Lara to post their unavailable dates so that we can figure out a date for the Sibling Reunion.

First Cabled Project

I made this cabled blanket and it was a lot of fun. It was made with Alpaca and silk and is super soft. It's in the mail now to its little baby recipient. Every timed I turned a cable, it felt like I was making magic - it was like being Harry Potter! Now that it is warmer, my knitting has dropped off in favor of gardening. I do hope to finish a hat for my mom and start a more complicated cabled blanket for Sam.
