This is our sled rig with carbiners, etc. This was our first time to try taking Sam and the sled with snow shoes. It didn't work very well, so we only made it about 1/2 mile, but we had SUCH a good time!! Sam wanted to walk most of the trip - almost all uphill! His little body and little feet did not punch through the packed trail like adult feet, so he didn't need snow shoes. He didn't want to turn around, but we convinced him to sled down the trail.
