Christmas Eve
The gingerbread house has become Elisa's favorite holiday tradition. Baking the entire day, measuring the pattern, again and again, refridgerating the dough again and again, replacing pieces that break in the oven - every minute is a blast. The best part is finally putting it together at 2am when it does not seem to match the picture. The pressure, oh the pressure, to have it ready to decorate after the presents on Christmas morning. Elisa is OUR shining star at Christmas.
It takes about four people to hold the house together while the royal icing sets. They don't show that part on the Food Network.
